A set of resin exhaust stubs for the German Henschel Hs 126 observation and reconnaissance aircraft in 1:48 scale from Quickboost. It is not an airplane model but an exactly cast detail part that will replace the coarser exhausts from the base kit with a more accurate shape with drilled-out openings.
The Hs 126 was a high-wing aircraft with fixed landing gear that served the Luftwaffe at the beginning of the Second World War as its main machine for close reconnaissance and artillery observation. It was powered by a Bramo 323 radial engine, whose exhaust gases were led away by short exhaust stubs along the sides of the cowling. The replacement resin stubs have crisper detail and open mouths, so the engine area of the model looks more realistic than the solid part from an injection mold.
Resin parts need more careful preparation: wash them in lukewarm soapy water to remove mold release residue, separate them from the casting block carefully and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate); protect your airways while sanding. Paint the exhausts with a combination of rust, dark metal and burnt steel shades and add weathered pigment and soot streaks running backward.
The part is supplied as a resin accessory, unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
