A set of wet decals for building the two-seat Boeing F/A-18F Super Hornet in the striking gloss black Vandy One finish. The package contains the complete markings including the technical lettering (stencils) for this scheme and is intended for Super Hornet models in 1:32 scale.

The subject

In March 2023 the Super Hornet with the number 166673 received a ceremonial gloss black paint job in the Black Bunny style, with a vampire motif on the vertical tail and the nickname Vandy One. The finish recalls the legacy of the VX-4 and VX-9 test squadrons; the VX-9 Vampires squadron took over the tasks of VX-4 in 1994 and operates from China Lake in the California desert, where it flies Super Hornet and Growler aircraft.

Application

• Spray the gloss black scheme over the whole surface; the decals will then adhere to a smooth glossy surface without silvering.
• Apply the large white and colored motifs in sections, with plenty of water and softener.
• Fix the detailed stencils with a setting solution so that they sink into the panel lines.
