1:32 Fairchild A-10 N/AW Thunderbolt II - Instrument Panels is a color interior accessory from Red Fox Studio for the two-seat night and all-weather version of the ground-attack aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
This printed set from Red Fox Studio is cut for a machine with two crew stations, so it covers an interior laid out differently from the usual single-seat sheets. The instruments have color dials and raised edges and are transferred on a carrier film. The aircraft model is not included; this is about finishing the cockpit.
The abbreviation marks the night and all-weather conversion that Fairchild tested at the turn of the 1970s and 1980s. A second seat for an operator was added to a lengthened fuselage, along with sensors for flying and attacking in reduced visibility. In the end the US Air Force did not go to series production and the project stayed at the prototype, so it is one of the most interesting dead ends in the development of the whole type. The test machine was created by converting one of the pre-production aircraft and first flew in 1979.
On a two-seat machine, work out beforehand which element belongs in the front and which in the rear cockpit so you do not mix them up. Level and degrease the surface and hold the knife upright. Work from the larger parts to the smaller ones and leave a finished area alone. Paint the rest of the station in a dark shade so the print holds the attention. The rear station tends to be harder to reach, so equip it first.
