Decals 1:32 Fairey Swordfish Mk.II from the British maker Xtradecal. A stand-alone decal sheet for the later version of the carrier biplane.
Responsibility details are not available.
A decal sheet in 1:32 scale for the British Fairey Swordfish carrier torpedo biplane in its Mk.II version. It is a stand-alone accessory for a model, not a kit. The sheet is made by the British firm Xtradecal, which has long specialized in decals for aircraft models.
The Swordfish served from the second half of the 1930s as a carrier torpedo and reconnaissance aircraft and stayed in service considerably longer than anyone expected of a biplane with fixed landing gear. The Mk.II version was a later production standard, adapted for use with armament carried under the wing. It differs from the early version in the details of the lower wing covering and in the extent of the service modifications, which is reflected in the markings as well.
With sheets that may have been in storage for a long time, it pays to check the condition of the carrier film before you reach for the main marking. Older film goes brittle and breaks into pieces when it is soaked. Try a marginal or spare insignia first: if it cracks, coat the whole sheet with a thin layer of gloss clear varnish from a spray can, let it dry and only then cut the individual decals out. The varnish creates a new continuous carrier and the sheet can be used normally. You then have to cut exactly along the outline, because the varnish joins neighboring decals into one surface. Soak them in warm water and take your time with the transfer.
The package contains the decal sheet only. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
