What the set contains

This is a set of photo-etched parts for a model of the Italian Fiat CR.42 fighter in 1:32 scale. Photo-etch is a thin metal fret from which the individual parts are nipped out and bent as needed. That is exactly why it suits places where a plastic part would look coarse: seat belts, instrument panels, steps, grilles or small hardware. The real subject

The Fiat CR.42 belonged to the last generation of fighter biplanes. It had fixed landing gear, an open cockpit and a radial engine, and although the biplane layout was already becoming obsolete by the time it entered service, its agility was appreciated. In 1:32 scale even small details around the cockpit and the engine cowling stand out, so photo-etched accessories are worth having on a model this large.

Building and painting tips

Cut or nip the parts from the fret and sand the remains of the tabs carefully, so that no sharp burr is left. Bend them over a straight edge, ideally in a bending tool; metal bent twice in the same place cracks. Bond with super glue applied a little at a time, because the contact area is usually minute. Degrease the parts before painting and use a primer suitable for metal, otherwise the coat will not hold. Prepare small parts over a tray so that they do not fly away from you.

The set is for modelers who want to take a large model down to the detail and are not afraid of working with small metal parts. The aircraft model, paints, glue and tools are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
