A figure of a firewoman in 1:32 scale from the brand Black Dog, carried as the first number of the sub-line. The brand offers a second pose and a shared set for it too, so you can start with a single piece and extend the scene later.
Figures on the market are largely military ones, and civilian rescue services make up a distinct minority among them. Anyone building a diorama with fire hardware usually runs into the fact that the vehicle is easy to come by, but the crew for it is not. That is exactly why this item makes sense outside a narrowly aviation scene too - it fills a gap that military figures cannot cover.
Airfield fire cover suggests itself, that is a scene with a standby vehicle by the runway, but it will serve just as well by a model of a truck chassis or in an urban composition. The 1:32 scale is widespread among models of hardware and among large aircraft kits, so there is plenty to choose from. In a scene give the figure a clear activity - a run-out hose, an open locker of the body, a look toward the place of the incident. A static figure beside a vehicle comes across as stuck on; drawn into the action it brings the scene to life at once. A small adjustment of the surface under the feet helps too, say a suggested puddle or tire tracks.
