A detail accessory for builders of the Albatros D.V fighter and its strengthened D.Va version in 1:32 scale. It is not an aircraft kit - it is an individual part with which the production plastic molding in a model is replaced. It is a resin accessory, so expect the usual work with a casting: separate, clean up, degrease and glue with cyanoacrylate glue.
The Albatros D.V and D.Va were single-seat fighter biplanes of the German air service from 1917 with a semi-monocoque plywood fuselage and an inline six-cylinder Mercedes engine. It is precisely the semi-monocoque structure that makes the Albatros a rewarding model - the fuselage has clean rounded shapes and in 1:32 scale the internal equipment of the cockpit is clearly visible. The D.Va version differed from the D.V in a strengthened airframe; both remain among the most frequently built German fighters of the First World War.
First wash the resin casting in lukewarm water with detergent - residues of mold release agent will reliably prevent paint from adhering. Cut the casting block off with a saw or a cutting disc, and never break it off; resin is hard and brittle at the same time. Sand wet and with your airways protected. Glue the part with cyanoacrylate glue, ideally the gel type, which gives time to align it. Before fitting it into the fuselage, check dry that it does not press against anything once the halves are closed - with parts inside a fuselage a later correction is practically impossible. Painting: a metallic look is better over a dark base, with a final dark wash into the pressings.
This is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The base model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
