An add-on cockpit set for a model of the Focke-Wulf Fw 190A-8 fighter in 1:32 scale. It replaces the cockpit from the kit with more finely rendered parts.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Focke-Wulf Fw 190A-8 was the most numerous version of this German fighter and was built from 1944. Behind the cockpit it was given space for an auxiliary tank, the armament consisted of machine guns ahead of the cockpit and cannons in the wing, and some of the machines served in a heavily armored form intended against bomber formations. The pilot sat under a one-piece sliding canopy that offered a very good view by the standards of the time, and that is exactly why the cockpit shows so much on a model.
An add-on cockpit set replaces the pilot's space from the kit with parts that carry deeper and crisper detail. In 1:32 scale the cockpit is large and with the canopy open you can look into it, so the difference against the base kit shows at first glance. What exactly the set contains and how the parts go together is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Try things dry first. The cockpit is fitted between the fuselage halves, so they have to be put together repeatedly to find where the part seats and where it gets in the way. Reckon on having to thin the internal walls of the fuselage or rework the seating. The parts are not polystyrene, so cement for plastic will not join them; use cyanoacrylate. Cut excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder down. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold on the surface.
The model of the aircraft, the paints and the glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
