A fighter dressed up as an attack aircraft

The F series grew out of the proven A-8 fighter version, only adapted to work over the battlefield. The engine and the underside of the fuselage received armor plates against fire from the ground, pylons for bombs were added under the fuselage and under the wings, and some of the cannon in the wings disappeared instead, so that the machine would not be overloaded. Pilots appreciated the radial engine, which took a hit better than a liquid-cooled one, and the sturdy wide landing gear that coped with torn-up field airstrips. From 1944 these aircraft bore the main weight of German attacks on advancing columns.

What the delivery includes

Two parts for the glazing, each for one side of the canopy frames, and along with them a pair of films for the cross marking. The scale is 1:32; neither a model nor paints are supplied. The die-cut shapes sit on the bars of the canopy without further work and hold even on the rounded top of the cockpit.

Craft: markings after the camouflage, not the other way around

The mottled spraying on the sides of the fuselage often runs across the edge of the cross on this type. Even so the marking is always sprayed onto finished camouflage, never before it. Anyone who reverses that has to mist another shade over a finished cross and either dirties it or, after removing the mask, outlines it with a sharp edge that never existed on the real machine. So finish the camouflage, let it rest overnight and only then lay on the marking parts. A slight softening of the edges can be tuned later with a thin mist or light polishing, but there is no longer any sensible way to repair a reversed order.
