Full-color three-dimensional decals of ammunition belts of the German 7.92 mm Mauser rifle caliber in 1:32 scale, a range of six hundred rounds.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Mauser rifle cartridge was the basic ammunition of German aircraft machine guns in the first half of the war. It was fired by the synchronized weapons above the engine of the early Messerschmitts, by the flexible machine guns in the glazed noses of Heinkels and Junkers and by the rapid-firing weapons of defensive positions. The smaller caliber meant a weaker effect against armored targets, but more rounds fitted, and so these belts wound through a cockpit in long snakes across whole boxes. In the later years, however, this caliber faded into the background, because its effect was no longer enough against armored bombers.
Assembling a belt of six hundred links in 1:32 is beyond the strength of most builders. This sheet offers another route: the color layers of the print imitate the brass of the case, the darker bullet and the shine of the metal link, while the depth of the layers creates a shadow that does not arise on a flat surface. The item gets onto the model with water, without super glue and without sanding. That also does away with the risk of the builder scratching the surrounding finished paint while wrestling with metal links.
The range of six hundred rounds allows several places to be filled at once, so one package will do for both the weapon and the supply beside it. For the work you need nothing but tweezers, a dish of water and a flat cutting mat.
