Responsibility details are not available.
A set of markings in 1:32 scale for the Gloster Meteor in the F.3 version, published by the British brand Xtradecal. It is a finishing accessory, not a kit: the customer obtains it for a model that is already sprayed. How many schemes are on the sheet and whom the individual machines belonged to cannot be established from the name and is not stated here.
The Meteor was the only Allied jet fighter that reached operational service during the Second World War. It had a conventional straight wing with two engine nacelles built into its span. The F.3 version brought a sliding canopy over the cockpit instead of a side-hinged one and power from Derwent engines; with them the machine had markedly better performance. At the end of the war Meteor F.3s operated over the continent, and after it they formed the backbone of British fighter aviation for several years, until types with a swept wing replaced them.
The Meteor is often built with a high gloss of natural metal or smooth paint. Such a surface is ideal for markings but scratches easily; put a soft cloth under your hands while you work and touch the model as little as possible. Choose the sealing varnish in thin coats, so that it does not dull the reflection of the metal surfaces.
