Master Box 1:32 Greek hoplite - Greco-Persian Wars, set no. 3 is an injection-molded plastic figure of an ancient heavily armed infantryman for dioramas as well as for display on its own.
Responsibility details are not available.
The third set of Greek hoplites from Master Box closes the trio of heavily armed infantrymen in injection-molded plastic in 1:32 scale. The figure, in a pose of its own, completes sets no. 1 and 2 into a coherent group, which can be set into a diorama of a phalanx or displayed individually. The model is made up of several parts and puts the emphasis on detailed rendering of the weapons.
The Greek hoplites were citizen-soldiers who during the Greco-Persian Wars defended the freedom of the Greek city-states. They carried a bronze helmet, a breastplate, a large round hoplon shield and a long spear. What mattered was the formation of the phalanx, in which the ranks of soldiers covered one another with their shields and advanced together against the enemy. It was there that the discipline and solidarity that brought the Greeks their famous victories showed themselves.
Cut the parts off with a sharp knife, sand the parting lines down and glue them with cement for plastic models. A base coat sprayed with an airbrush is suitable, followed by bringing the detail out with washes and a drybrush. The metal parts of the armor come out well with light weathering, and the fabric chiton will take more pronounced shading and highlights.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
