1:32 Grumman F-14A Tomcat is a set of 3D textured instrument panels from Red Fox Studio on decal paper for the tandem cockpit of the model in 1:32 scale. Intended for the Tamiya kit.

Colored panels with printed relief for both stations of the cockpit. The carrier is decal paper, so the elements are soaked off in water and settled onto varnished plastic; nothing is glued. The set handles what is hardest by hand - the scales, the lettering and the scopes of the round instruments of the early version. The target kit is Tamiya.
This is the Tomcat before the digital upgrade, and you can see it at first glance. The pilot's panel is full of round instruments with a vertical display of flight data in the middle; modern screens are not to be found here. The rear station is even more distinctive: the weapon systems officer had round scopes in front of him, recessed deep into their hoods, that is a completely different geometry from the flat display of later machines. The rear compartment also has no classic flight panel - the layout matches work with sensors, not flying. The side consoles carry long rows of switches and both seats have their own belts. Under the glazing of the large canopy both stations are visible at once, so the difference between them makes up half the impression of the finished model.
The main trouble here comes from the deep scopes. The film has to get under their rim, otherwise it will stand off and be scuffed when the cockpit is closed. Slide the element into place while the base is still slippery and carefully tuck it under the edge of the hood with the tip of a toothpick; never press on the relief with the flat side of a tool, as that would flatten the dials. Keep the soak short and the water lukewarm. Decal softener helps most on the round scopes, but apply it by drops only around the rim and let it work without interference; a thicker print needs more time than an ordinary decal. Once everything has dried, check against the light whether an air pocket is held under an instrument - it can still be let out with a prick of a needle and a wipe of softener.
