Hawker Hurricane Mk.IIB and Mk.X part 6 - US Eagles, in 1:32 scale is a decal sheet from Art Scale devoted to the Hurricanes flown by American volunteers.
Responsibility details are not available.
A sheet of wet decals for models of the Hawker Hurricane fighter in the Mk.IIB and Mk.X versions, in 1:32 scale. The sixth part of the numbered series turns to the theme of the American eagles, that is pilots from the United States who entered the war in British service. The decals are an accessory for a model; the aircraft itself is not included.
The Mk.IIB is the machine-gun version of the Hurricane with the Rolls-Royce Merlin XX engine and twelve barrels in the wing. The Mk.X is a more interesting chapter: these were Hurricanes built under license in Canada, which received a Merlin engine built under license by the Packard company. Canadian production supplemented British capacity, and the machines then served on both sides of the Atlantic. The American volunteers who joined the Royal Air Force before the United States entered the war began on Hurricanes, before their units re-equipped with Spitfires - and that is exactly what makes such a model a rewarding subject.
Spray the base with the final color, let it cure and varnish it with a gloss coat. On a gloss surface a decal blends in without a white veil; on a matte one a light edge appears around it. Soak the sheet in lukewarm water, move the decal into place and align it with a brush. A decal softener will help it hug the engraved relief and the riveting. Apply the large elements first and the small ones by them. Finally even the surface up with a matte varnish, and only then start on the weathering.
