A set of covering masks for a model of the German Henschel Hs 123A biplane in 1:32 scale, tied in shape to ICM kits.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Henschel Hs 123 was a German single-seat biplane introduced in the middle of the 1930s as a dive bomber. In the fighting in Spain and later on the Eastern Front it became a tough ground-attack aircraft which stayed in service substantially longer than had originally been reckoned with. An open cockpit, fixed landing gear with wheel spats and a sturdy structure give it a silhouette that cannot be mistaken for anything else.
Covering masks are precut self-adhesive parts which during spraying cover the areas that are to stay free of paint. Cutting tape directly on the model drops away and the edge of the spray comes out sharp even where tape would have to be bent into a curve. The set is tied in shape to one particular model, according to the name to the Hs 123A kits from ICM in 1:32 scale. Which parts are cut in it is given by the manufacturer on the packaging.
Stick the masks onto a clean and degreased surface before spraying and press them down from the center toward the edges, so that paint does not run under them. Spray in thin coats, as a thick coat will create a step at the edge which is visible once the mask is taken off. Take the mask off shortly after the paint has dried, not after several days, and pull it away at a sharp angle to the surface. Wipe off any remains of adhesive with a cotton swab dampened in spirit.
The set of masks itself is supplied. The kit of the aircraft, the paints and the glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
