This is a set of preprinted color 3D decals for detailing the cockpit of the Romanian IAR-81C fighter in 1:32 scale. It is neither a model nor a kit: it is a raised decal for the cockpit with a three-dimensional structure and faithful colors, which replaces the flat parts of the base kit without any need to paint the instrument faces by hand or to work with photo-etch. The set is designed for a particular plastic kit of the Special Hobby brand. It holds a raised instrument panel, side panels and seat belts.
The IAR-81 was a Romanian fighter and dive bomber, built by the domestic IAR company during the Second World War. The IAR-81C version was purely a fighter and was deployed on the Eastern Front.
After a short dip in lukewarm water, separate the part from the carrier film with tweezers and lay it in place in the cockpit. They are not self-adhesive. Raised decals are thicker than ordinary ones, so seat them with a water-thinnable glue or with acrylic varnish. No decal softener belongs here. The set is better suited to more advanced modelers.
