Masking set for a German bomber in 1:32 scale. It masks the glazed nose from the outer and the inner face and adds four stencils for the national insignia.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Ju 88A-4 was the peak of the whole line: a lengthened wing, Jumo 211J engines, strengthened racks and a crew of four. The space for them was enclosed by a glazed nose assembled from many flat panes in a dense frame, to which a gun gondola clung from below. For a model builder it is an area that cannot be avoided or skimped.
Masking such a nose with tape means cutting and laying several dozen individual panels, hitting the width of the frame on each one and watching that neighbors do not overlap. Count on three to four hours and on touching up after spraying anyway. A cut set manages the same work in roughly forty minutes and the framing comes out even. If you have been in two minds about whether stencils pay off, on this machine the answer is the clearest of any.
Lay the inner pieces on before you glue the glazing into the fuselage. On a glazed nose the framing is visible from inside from practically every angle and a brush will not reach into the corners. This is precisely the step that improves a finished model most.
Against the fighter sets there is one item more here: there are four insignia stencils. The white border of the German cross is sprayed in two steps, so set aside a separate evening for the markings. Decals are not stated here, so obtain the supplementary inscriptions separately.
