Responsibility details are not available.
Self-adhesive cut masks from New Ware for spraying the national and tactical markings onto a model of the Heinkel He 219 twin-engine night fighter in the early A-0 and A-2 versions, 1:32 scale. It is an accessory, not a kit and not a decal sheet. The masks are laid onto a finished paint job and the markings are created directly in the coat of paint.
With insignia masks it is the accuracy of placement that decides. A decal can still be moved for a while after it has been applied, whereas a mask stays where you press it down. It therefore pays to lay the mask on dry first, check it against the panel lines and the axis of the fuselage, mark the position with two strips of ordinary tape if necessary, and only then press the mask home. On the curved surface of the fuselage press from the center outwards, so that the mask does not wrinkle and the marking does not come out skewed.
Markings are usually in two colors, so they are sprayed in layers. First the lighter shade goes over the whole area of the marking; once it has become tacky the relevant part of the mask is peeled away and the darker shade is sprayed. Between coats let the paint only become tacky, not cure fully, or the edges will chip when the next part is lifted. Tie the finished area together with a clear coat and only then go on with washes and pigments.
The package contains masks only. The model, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
