New Ware masking set - IAR-80A / 81C / 81 BoPi, 1:32 (the EXPERT level)

The most complete variant of precisely cut self-adhesive masks of fine kabuki (washi) tape from the Czech manufacturer New Ware, intended for large plastic models of the Romanian IAR-80/81 fighter in 1:32 scale. The set makes faithful multicolor painting of the glazing and of the small details possible.

What the EXPERT level contains

The EXPERT level is the most comprehensive stage. Besides the outer surfaces of the glazing it also includes masks for the inside of the windows, the seals of the frames, the landing gear wheels and further small details for maximum accuracy.

The real subject

The IAR-80 was a single-seat fighter of Romanian manufacture from the period of the Second World War, deployed on the Eastern Front. The IAR-81 version also served as a fighter-bomber, and the BoPi designation refers to the variant for dive bombing.

Use and tips

• Apply the masks for the inner surfaces before the glazing is closed up.
• In the larger 1:32 scale the detail masks are comfortable to place.
• Once painted, take the masks off carefully and in good time.
