About product

Martin-Baker Mk.4-CA-2 ejection seat for the BAE Lightning 1:32 (Aires)

This resin set faithfully casts the Martin-Baker Mk.4 ejection seat in the CA-2 version intended for the British Lightning fighter aircraft in 1:32 scale. This is not an aircraft model but a detail accessory with which the simplified seat from a plastic kit is replaced. The set captures the structure of the seat, the straps and the firing handles.

The real subject

The Martin-Baker Mk.4 is a British ejection seat introduced in the fifties and fitted in a number of combat and training aircraft of the time. Seats of this line were used among others by the Lightning fighter aircraft.

Use and fitting

Wash the mold release agent off the parts, cut off the casting blocks and glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Put the seat into the cabin as a rule at the end of building the interior; paint it before gluing it in. Wear respiratory protection while sanding.

Who the set is for

  • Modelers building the Lightning in 1:32 scale
  • Anyone interested in a realistic ejection seat
  • Collectors of Cold War aircraft
  • Advanced builders working with resin

This is a resin accessory for a kit, not an aircraft model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
