A masking set in 1:32 scale for the movable surfaces of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-10, cut for Revell kits.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Bf 109 G-10 is one of the last versions of the German single-engine fighter aircraft to reach serial production. It carries a modified engine cowling with prominent bulges, and most machines had an enlarged sliding cockpit canopy without a transverse brace, known under the Erla designation, which improved the pilot's view to the rear. The deflecting surfaces, that is, the ailerons, the elevator and the rudder, were fabric-covered and differed from the metal skin of the airframe in surface texture.
The masks are cut to the outlines of these surfaces and match the parts of Revell kits in 1:32 scale. The setting off is done with paint: the mask delimits the area you overspray in a different shade, and once it is taken off a clean boundary of the same width along its whole length is left. Neither engraving nor tracing with a brush is needed.
Let the base coat dry properly and degrease the surface, otherwise the mask does not seat. Press the edges down with a blunt point, for example a toothpick, and spray several thin coats at lower pressure. Pull the mask back over itself at an angle at the moment the paint is dry to the touch; with longer waiting it may take a piece of the finish with it. Choose a shade only slightly different from the base, otherwise the surfaces stand out exaggeratedly on the model.
For builders of late Messerschmitts in a large scale who build from Revell and want the movable surfaces distinctly set off. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
