Quickboost MiG-29A Fulcrum exhaust nozzle covers, type B, 1:32 (resin detail set)

This is not an airplane kit but an add-on resin set from the Quickboost brand in 1:32 scale. The set represents the exhaust nozzle covers (type B), which on the aircraft are fitted over the engine outlets when the machine is standing on the ground. On a model they round out a realistic scene on the apron. The set is meant for more experienced modelers.

The real subject

The MiG-29 in its basic version is a Soviet twin-engine fourth-generation fighter. It is marked by a pair of engines with separated nozzles, good agility and characteristic large air intakes. It has served and still serves with many air forces.

Building and painting tips

First wash the resin parts free of mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks carefully and glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Use respiratory protection when sanding. The nozzle covers are usually painted as ground protective items. The surface is usually painted with an airbrush and the detail picked out with a fine wash.
