Montex 1:32 P-40 is a set of pre-cut self-adhesive painting masks for the Trumpeter plastic kit. It is not a model or a kit but an accessory for painting the glazing of a large model.
Responsibility details are not available.
Pre-cut self-adhesive painting masks for a model of the fighter Curtiss P-40 in 1:32 scale. There are no plastic parts in the package - the set serves purely for masking the transparent parts of a kit you have already bought and is cut to its shapes. Check the particular production rendering of the aircraft against the Trumpeter kit.
The Curtiss P-40 was an American single-seat fighter and fighter-bomber with a liquid-cooled V engine, which was built in many progressively improved renderings. Characteristic of it are the slender nose with the radiator under the engine, a robust airframe and a sliding canopy following on from a framed windshield. The aircraft proved itself at low and medium altitudes and served with the air forces of a number of states.
In a large scale the dilemma often arises whether to spray the frames or to use decal strips. Spraying through a mask looks better, because it creates no step and the paint sits exactly in the plane of the plastic - and a decal also breaks on a curved canopy. The condition is that the mask sits properly. On the larger pieces the edge of the template is long, so press it down gradually from one end to the other, not in the middle all at once. Thin the paint well and spray thin layers. Let a finished model rest for at least a day before taking the masks off; on large areas curing takes longer than on small parts.
The set is an accessory to a plastic kit, which it does not contain. Paints and glue are not included in the package.
