An accessory from the LööK range for a model of the P-47D Thunderbolt fighter in 1:32 scale. It covers the instrument panel, the most visible feature of the cockpit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Republic P-47 Thunderbolt was among the heaviest single-engine fighters of the Second World War. The rugged machine could take a hit, carry a large load and proved itself both escorting bombers and attacking ground targets. The D version was the most numerous and was built in many batches that differ noticeably from one another. Later machines were given a bubble canopy and a cut-down rear fuselage, so that the pilot could see behind him better. In 1:32 the cockpit is large and the viewer can see into it even when you close it up.
The set covers the instrument panel. Once the canopy is in place, that panel is the first thing anyone who leans over the model looks at in the cockpit, so it is worth giving it more attention than anything else. A replacement panel is usually rendered more finely than an injection-molded part with a decal can manage. The exact contents of the package and the fitting procedure are given in the instructions supplied with the set.
Dry-fit the panel before you close the fuselage; once the halves are glued together you can no longer reach it. Make sure the panel sits level and at the right distance from the seat. Choose the glue to suit the material of the part and apply it in small amounts so that it does not run onto a visible surface. Do not cover the clear faces of the instruments with paint or glue.
This is an add-on set. The aircraft kit, the paints and the glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
