A decal sheet intended for a P-51D-5 model in 1:32 scale. It serves as an accessory for a plastic kit: with the markings from the sheet you either replace what the kit provides or open up another guise of the aircraft. Which particular aircraft the sheet covers, in what color finish and whether it also contains stencils, is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The P-51D is the best-known form of the American Mustang fighter. You will recognize it by the cut-down rear fuselage and the bubble canopy, thanks to which the pilot could see behind him, which the earlier versions could not manage. Early aircraft of the D-5 series did not yet have the dorsal fin ahead of the vertical tail that later examples carried. Mustangs were among the most strikingly marked aircraft of their day, and it is precisely the markings that make them recognizable at a glance.
Coat the area under the decal with a gloss clear, as on a matte surface air would be trapped under the film and a white haze would form around it. Cut the decal out close to the edge, dip it in lukewarm water and let it rest until it will slide off the backing. Lay it in place, soak the excess water away with a soft cloth and let a decal softener settle the film into the engraved lines. Once dry, even the surface out with a matte or semi-gloss clear.
The decal sheet alone is supplied. The aircraft kit, paints, clear coats and a decal softener are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
