A cast figure of a pilot of the American F-104 Starfighter fighter in 1:32 scale. The large scale is ideal for figures: an adult man comes out at about five and a half centimeters in it, so it makes sense to paint the eyes, the seams on the suit and the buckles on the straps. Beside a Starfighter model, the figure also shows how unusually slim that machine was.
The F-104 Starfighter was a jet fighter with an extremely short, thin wing with sharp leading edges and a rocket-shaped fuselage. It was designed for speed and rate of climb and was exceptional in both, but its landing behavior was merciless. It served with a number of European air forces and its silhouette is among the most memorable of the Cold War.
Wash the figure in lukewarm water with detergent, cut the casting block off with a saw and glue it with cyanoacrylate glue. Paint from the top down. Polish the helmet with gloss varnish and darken the visor with one narrow highlight. Set the g-suit and the straps apart in shade and in sheen. Build the face up in layers: a base tone, a dark wash into the eye sockets, a light touch on the nose, the forehead and the cheekbones.
The figure is supplied unpainted. Paints, glue and a model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
