A 3D-printed colored interior 1:32 for the PT-13 Kaydet on decal paper from Quinta Studio brings colored detail into the open cockpits of the training biplane. An accessory for a model, not a kit. Intended for the Roden kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of 3D-printed and painted interior on decal paper in 1:32 scale for a model of the Boeing Stearman PT-13 Kaydet training biplane from the Quinta Studio brand. It is neither a kit nor a model in its own right but an accessory that replaces part of the internal equipment of a plastic model. The target kit is Roden.
The three-dimensional parts are printed and painted straight away, so hand painting and accenting of small cockpit features falls away. According to the name they are laid on decal paper, so they transfer onto the model much like decals. Do not apply Micro Sol or similar softeners, as they would damage the printed resin. It is on a training biplane that this pays off most, because both cockpits are completely open and the interior is the main surface on view on a finished model.
The Boeing Stearman Kaydet appeared in the 1930s as a basic trainer and became one of the most widespread biplanes of its day. A fixed landing gear, a robust tube-frame fuselage and a reliable radial engine made it an aircraft that forgave mistakes and stood up to hard use at training fields. The PT-13 version served with the US Army Air Corps and was powered by a Lycoming radial engine. After the war a large share of the machines passed to civilian operators, who used them for crop dusting and aerobatics, and many Kaydets are still flying today.
