The real subject

The PZL P.11c was a Polish high-wing fighter of the 1930s with a gull wing, fixed landing gear and an open cockpit. It is the open cockpit that matters to a modeler: the area around the seat is visible from above and from the side, and an unfinished interior shows at first glance on a finished model. In 1:32 scale that holds doubly.

How the set works

These are colored 3D printed interior elements that have no adhesive layer of their own. The part is cut out, soaked in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and slid off the paper into place, where it holds most reliably on gloss varnish. The on decal paper designation therefore fits: the decal paper is the carrier of the print. Do not use a decal softener or a setting solution, though, as the chemistry would attack the printed resin. The set is prepared for the IBG kit in 1:32 scale and carries the instrument panel, the side consoles, the controls and the belts with finished color printing and raised relief.

Procedure

First paint the plastic interior parts in a base shade, let them dry completely and go over them with a gloss varnish of the Future, Klear or Tamiya X-22 type; an element holds better on gloss than on dusty flat paint. Soak the cut-out parts for fifteen seconds, slide them off the backing into place and align them with tweezers or a damp brush. Soak up the excess water and press the element down with a soft stick from the center toward the edges, so that the relief settles into the hollows. On curved areas work in sections and secure a broken-up spot with a drop of super glue if needed.
