The smaller edition of airfield grass pavers in 1:32 scale covers about 21 by 19 centimeters and suits more intimate bases and display-case scenes.
Responsibility details are not available.
This variant of the concrete grids is cut for more intimate scenes: it covers around 21 by 19 centimeters, that is roughly what one machine with its crew needs. The parts are made by three-dimensional printing and hold the grid outline of the real thing.
Prefabricated slabs with openings were part of the equipment of field and permanent bases alike. They were quick to lay, they carried the load of a landing gear, and the grass that grew through them broke the surface up visually. From them a modeler gets exactly what period photographs often show, namely a strip of firmed road losing itself in grassy surroundings.
Laying the slabs into a layer of terrain paste while it is still supple, leveling them and letting them dry works well. Start the painting with a light gray tone, then liven the surface up by stippling with oil colors and finally pick the joints out with a darker mixture. Static grass or fine gravel around the perimeter covers the edge of the segment, so that the transition into the surrounding terrain looks natural.
The material comes with no finish applied. Paints, static grass and terrain paste are not supplied with the box and have to be obtained separately.
