1:32 SAAB J-29F Tunnan Swedish Markings

MH models 1:32 SAAB J-29F Tunnan - masks for Swedish insignia

A set of masking films for spraying Swedish military markings onto a model of the SAAB J-29F Tunnan fighter in 1:32 scale from MH models. It is not a kit or a finished model - it is an accessory to a model you already have built and sprayed. The insignia is sprayed on directly in paint, so it becomes part of the finish and no carrier film is left on the surface.

The real subject

The SAAB 29 Tunnan was a Swedish jet fighter with a characteristic barrel-shaped fuselage, to which it owes its nickname. The J-29F version belonged among the late variants with a reworked wing. The machine served above all with the Swedish Air Force, whose markings this set of masks covers.

How to use the mask

• The airframe has to be sprayed and completely dry; the ideal base is a smooth gloss clear coat.
• Stick the film onto the designated place and press it down all round the outline with a wooden toothpick.
• Cover the surroundings with paper or tape, so that the paint does not stray beyond the insignia.
• Spray several very thin coats, because otherwise a noticeable step is left on the edge.
• Spray multi-color insignia layer by layer and remove the mask step by step.
• Take the film off shortly after the paint has dried, at a sharp angle to the surface.

Who the set is for

• Builders of the SAAB J-29F Tunnan in 1:32 scale
• Modelers who want the markings sprayed rather than transferred
• Anyone interested in postwar Swedish jet aviation

This is an accessory, not a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
