1:32 Supermarine Spitfire airplanes used by the Czechoslovak airmen in the RAF

Supermarine Spitfire - Czechoslovak airmen in the RAF 1:32 (DK Decals)

A decal sheet (water-slide decals) in 1:32 scale from the Czech manufacturer DK Decals. It offers camouflage and personal markings for the legendary Supermarine Spitfire fighters on which Czechoslovak airmen served in the ranks of the RAF during the Second World War. The sheet contains national insignia, squadron code letters, serial numbers and personal emblems for several particular machines. It is not a model or a kit - it is an accessory with which you finish your own Spitfire model in that scale.

The theme

After the occupation of Czechoslovakia, hundreds of airmen made their way through Poland and France to Britain, where the Czechoslovak fighter squadrons of the RAF were formed - above all No. 310, No. 312 and No. 313 Squadrons. Many of the pilots moved on to Spitfires and took part in the defense of Britain and in the later offensive operations over the Channel and Europe. The markings of these machines are among the historically valuable and, among modelers, rewarding subjects.

How to use the sheet

The decals are released in lukewarm water and settled onto the model. Even the surface out beforehand with a gloss coat so that no dried film appears around the decal. A decal softener will help them settle perfectly into engraved lines and curves; finally seal everything with a matte or semi-gloss coat. The exact placement follows the enclosed instructions.

Who the sheet is for

• For modelers building Spitfires in 1:32 scale
• For those interested in Czechoslovak airmen in the RAF and in aviation history
• For collectors who want particular historical machines on their model
• For advanced and moderately experienced modelers used to working with decals

This is a decal sheet, not a model. The kit, paints and clear coat are not included in the package.
