A set of belts for the cockpits of Soviet aircraft of the Second World War in 1:32 scale. A detail for a spare interior, where the restraint is the most prominent element.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set for rendering the pilot restraint in the cockpits of Soviet aircraft of the war years, meant for models in the large 1:32 scale.
Soviet fighter and ground-attack machines were built for mass production and for the makeshift conditions of field airstrips. The fittings of the cockpit were therefore spare: a simple seat, fabric or painted lining and a restraint without unnecessary extras. It is exactly that spareness that makes the belts the most prominent element of the whole space, because otherwise there is little in the cockpit to look at.
In a large scale Soviet types appear regularly, from wood-and-metal fighters through ground-attack machines with an armored tub to trainers and reconnaissance aircraft. On all of them the cockpit cover slides or hinges, so the interior stays visible even after the build is complete. It also makes sense when you are building a model with a closed cockpit and want the interior finished for later photography.
Finish the inside of the cockpit including the weathering and only then fit the belts. Choose the routing according to a period photograph of the particular type, because the attachment differs between machines. Let the straps ripple naturally over the edge of the pan and over the backrest. Match the shade of the strap and of the fittings with the overall tuning of the cockpit, so that the new element does not read as a foreign body.
