Tiger I in African configuration 1:48 is a photo-etched detail set from the Hauler brand for a model of the heavy tank deployed in North Africa with the heavy tank battalion given in the name of the product.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a kit of the tank but a set of accessories in photo-etched sheet from the Czech maker Hauler. The set is aimed at a model of the Tiger I in the version used on the North African battlefield. In scope it corresponds to a complete detail set rather than a single part; the exact composition of the package is given in the instructions enclosed with the set.
The Tiger I was a German heavy tank of the Second World War with a gun of 88 mm caliber and a heavily armored hull. The machines deployed in Tunisia in 1942 and 1943 came from the early production series and carried modifications for operation in a hot and dusty environment, in particular a different arrangement of the air intake and filtration and a light desert finish.
Photo-etched metal differs from plastic in that a part arises by bending a flat pattern. A simple bending tool, tweezers with smooth jaws and thin cyanoacrylate pay off. Always degrease the sheet with alcohol, as otherwise neither the glue nor the paint will hold on the smooth surface. Bend larger parts over their whole length at once, so that the edge is not rippled, and when cutting the smaller items off, hold them down with the tip of a scalpel so that they do not spring away.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
