Canvas covering coated with varnish has a surface that is hard to imitate with paint: the weave shows through it, the varnish gives the area a yellowish cast and the shade changes according to how light falls on the covering. This sheet solves the task differently from a brush. A printed rendering of canvas is laid onto the exterior surfaces of the model, bringing the texture ready-made and in a density matching 1:32 scale.
It is a flat printed sheet, not parts for a model. By its name the film is semi-transparent and very thin, so it conforms to the shape of the surface and lets the base shade show through beneath it; the resulting tone is therefore also determined by the color it is laid over. The version is listed as regular, which distinguishes this item from the other variants within the line. These are genuine waterslide decals. Unify the base with gloss varnish, or air will stay under the film and the area will turn white. Dip the cut-out piece in water for a moment and let it rest until the film moves freely on the backing. Slide it into place, align the position and push the water out with a soft swab from the center toward the edges. Over ribs and unevenness you will settle the film with a decal softener; lay large areas piece by piece and let them overlap slightly. Once dry, coat the model with varnish, which hides the edges and unifies the surface.
