This set from the manufacturer Red Fox Studio is not glued on but applied like a decal. The interior details are printed three-dimensionally and colored directly on decal paper, so after application a raised panel with legible faces arises. It is not a model but an accessory to a model in the large 1:32 scale.
The Corsair went through a series of modifications during production and many of them concerned precisely the pilot's space. The F4U-1A version received a raised canopy with a better view and a modified seating position, so considerably more can be seen in the cockpit than on the earliest machines. That is at the same time why the manufacturer makes the sets for the individual versions separately: a panel from one version need not match another, and in a scale this large the difference is apparent at first glance. If you are not sure which version you are building, check the designation on the box of the kit.
Level the original relief of the instrument panel, paint the area dark and go over it with gloss varnish. Soak the cut-out piece in lukewarm water for a few seconds, let it rest until it releases and transfer it into place. Handle the settling into the recesses with a softener and a soft brush. With the Corsair it pays to devote attention to the side walls of the cockpit, which are clearly visible with the canopy open. Once it has dried, go over the whole interior with semi-matte varnish, otherwise the areas will be unnaturally glossy.
The set is an accessory to a model, not a kit in its own right. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
