An accessory set in 1:72 scale from Black Dog model. According to the name it concerns the electronics and the tail section of the MH-53J helicopter. It is not a kit of the machine but parts with which a model built from the base box is completed.
The MH-53J is the version of the heavy H-53 series helicopter adapted for night operations and low-level flight in poor visibility. Extensive equipment in the forward fuselage serves that purpose, above all a terrain-following radar and a thermal imaging system, together with equipment for in-flight refueling. The tall tail surface carrying the tail rotor is characteristic as well, and on so large a machine it forms a prominent part of the silhouette.
In 1:72 scale the resin parts are small, so work over a tray so that nothing disappears on you. Wash the parts in warm soapy water, cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutting disc and level the surfaces, protecting your airways while sanding. Glue with super glue, ideally with an accelerator, after the fit has been tried dry. Leave the protruding sensors and antennas until the end of the build, so that they are not broken off during handling.
The set is an accessory to a model, not a kit. The other modeling material is sold separately.
