1:35 T-72B obr 1989 and T-72BA is the ninth sheet of the Ukrainian Star Decals series with the markings of Russian tanks operating in Ukraine in 2022.
Responsibility details are not available.
The ninth part of the Ukrainian Star Decals series brings together the markings of two close versions of the T-72 tank that the Russian army used in Ukraine in 2022. The sheet is an addition to a model in 1:35 size and holds no plastic parts.
The abbreviation obr in the Russian designation refers to the production pattern of the given year, so the T-72B obr 1989 means the version introduced at the end of the 1980s. That one was marked by additional protection of the front of the hull and of the turret, which visibly changed the outline of the tank. The designation T-72BA belongs to a later modernization of older machines, in which mainly the internal equipment and part of the external elements were changed. Both versions are told apart in the field by details, not by the overall shape, and that is precisely why it pays to have accurate markings at hand with them.
The subjects record the state of 2022 and are meant to serve a modeler as historical reference. The recorded designs belong on a model only after the base coat and gloss varnish, but still before the layer of grime and dust, otherwise they will look unnaturally clean. Only at the very end do you seal the model with a matte varnish, which hides the edge of the film.
