1:35 Befehlspanzer # 3. Bef.Pz. IV and Pz.Beob.Wg IV.

The real subject

Not every armored machine in a column was meant to shoot. Command tanks, in German Befehlspanzer, were built on the chassis of ordinary tanks, but in place of part of the ammunition they carried radio equipment on top of that, with which the commander directed the whole unit; on the outside they were given away mainly by their aerials. The Panzerbeobachtungswagen was the vehicle of an artillery observer. It rode with the tank units and directed the fire of the artillery, so it needed observation and signals instruments more than a full supply of rounds. Both of these conversions also came into being on the chassis of the Panzer IV, that is of the most widespread German tank of the war, and it is precisely to them that the sheet is devoted.

What the sheet offers

Decals in 1:72 scale for command and observation machines on the chassis of the Panzer IV. The serial number three places the sheet in the series devoted to command tanks. These machines differ from fighting vehicles on the outside only in details, so it is precisely the markings that give a finished model a clear placing, and a viewer knows from them that this is not an ordinary tank.

Application

Cut the elements out as close to the print as possible, soak them in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let them rest until the print slides freely over the backing paper. Transfer them onto a smooth, glossy and degreased surface and press the excess water out with a soft cloth. In 1:72 scale the elements are small, so it pays to work with tweezers and a wetted brush and to fine-tune the position before the decal dries on. On edges help it along with a softener and go over the finished area with varnish.

Who it is for

For builders of German hardware in 1:72 scale who are building a command or observation version. The kit, the paints and the varnish are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
