Star Decals 1:72 decals for the StuG III Ausf F/8, the StuG III Ausf G and the StuH 42 Ausf G in Italy will round a model of an assault gun out with period markings.

The sixth part of the Italian series from Star Decals aims in 1:72 scale at assault guns: at the StuG III in the Ausf F/8 and Ausf G versions and at the howitzer variant StuH 42 Ausf G. The package holds markings; a model of the assault gun you procure separately.
The StuG III was a turretless assault weapon built on the chassis of the PzKpfw III. The Ausf F/8 version grew out of the later version of the hull, and the Ausf G then brought a new commander's cupola fitting and wider use in anti-tank defense. The StuH 42 shared the superstructure and the chassis with the late version of the StuG III, but in place of the anti-tank gun it carried a 10.5cm howitzer intended for destroying fortified positions.
The superstructure of an assault gun offers less room than a tank turret and many of the areas are sloping or broken by a weld. Choose the position of the markings, therefore, before you release the membrane from its paper, and set it out dry according to the illustration. Keep wetting a sloping area as you go, because the water runs off it quickly and a decal then sticks down crooked. On welds pressure from a cotton swab from the center toward the edge helps to push the air out. Keep the barrel set aside while you work, so that it is not in your way.
