About product

1:72 F4F-3 Wildcat Late .50 Browning barrels and pitot tube (two options)

A precision detail set from MASTER for models of the Grumman F4F-3 Wildcat in 1:72 scale. It contains turned brass barrels for the .50 caliber (12.7 mm) Browning wing machine guns and a turned pitot tube. The late version has round cooling holes, and the set offers two options. Even in the small 1:72 scale the metal parts bring crisp detail that plastic cannot manage.

The real subject

The Grumman F4F-3 Wildcat was a carrier-borne fighter of the US Navy in the early part of the Second World War. Late machines are recognized, among other things, by the round cooling holes in the jackets of the machine gun barrels.

Use and fitting

  • Cut the plastic ends of the barrels off and replace them with the turned metal ones.
  • Glue the metal parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue).
  • Given the small scale, work with tweezers and in good light.
  • Fit the pitot tube at the very end of the build.

Who the set is for

For modelers in 1:72 scale who want faithful metal detail even on a small Wildcat.

This is an add-on set, not an aircraft model. Paints, glue and the base kit are not included in the package.

FAQ

No, it is a detail accessory with turned metal barrels and a pitot tube for a plastic Wildcat model in 1:72.

The parts are tiny, so tweezers and good light are advisable; the resulting detail is something plastic cannot offer.

Turned metal parts are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue).
