1:32 B5N2 Kate closed canopy - one-sided express mask is a one-sided Art Scale masking set for a model with a closed canopy.
Responsibility details are not available.
It follows from the name which build the set aims at: a model with a closed canopy, masked from one side. It is a straightforward solution for the modeler who wants crisp frames but does not want to get into the tedious masking of the other side of the glazing. The set is made by Art Scale.
The designer Katsuji Nakajima drew up the B5N as an all-metal monoplane at a time when most carrier attack aircraft in the world still flew as biplanes. The B5N2 version of 1939 differed from the older B5N1 mainly in its power unit. It carried either a torpedo under the fuselage or a bomb load, and it was this version that made up the torpedo waves of the Japanese attacks at the start of the war in the Pacific.
Leave the pieces on the backing sheet until the moment of use and take them off with the tip of a scalpel, not with your fingers. Seat them along the run of the frame and go round their circumference with a blunt toothpick, so that no ripple is left anywhere. After spraying, take the masks off slowly and at a shallow angle to the surface. If the paint did creep in somewhere, touch the frame up with a fine brush while the coat is still fresh.
