The bust by the Dynamo-Models brand is tied to the French naval commandos serving during the Second World War under the command of Philippe Kieffer. The 1:10 format suits this subject, because what characterizes the unit is above all the headgear and the badges.
The battalion of naval fusilier commandos arose from French volunteers and went through British training for raiding and landing operations. As part of the British No. 4 Commando it landed on the sixth of June 1944 at Ouistreham in the Sword sector and had the task of taking the strongpoints there. They were the only French ground soldiers who took part in the landing in Normandy that day. The green beret of the British commandos became a lasting mark of recognition for them.
The beret looks good only when it does not stay a single flat color: lay the base down darker and breathe a lighter tone lightly over the upper curve. The woven webbing of the equipment has a different structure from cloth, so give it coarser transitions and fewer smooth areas. Badges and cloth patches are more comfortable to paint once the matte varnish has dried, as it forgives small touches of the brush.
