A masking set for the cabin glazing frames of the Robinson R44 Raven II helicopter in 1:72 scale, intended for Kovozavody Prostejov kits.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Robinson R44 Raven II is a light helicopter used around the world for training, for sightseeing flights and for duty tasks. For a modeler it is typified by the broad rounded glazing of the cabin: anyone who wants the frames sharp and straight faces the hardest part of the whole build. It is precisely this work that the set does away with.
The masking parts follow the shape of the glazing and its frames in 1:72 scale and are prepared for Kovozavody Prostejov kits. There is no more cutting tape by eye, the frames come out the same width on both sides of the cabin and the clear part stays free of smears from adhesive tape. On a helicopter, where the glazing makes up a substantial part of the visible area, that shows in the result more than on an airplane.
The masks are applied before spraying, onto degreased and dry glazing. Press the edges down firmly with a toothpick or a blunt wooden skewer so that paint cannot get under them. Spray in thin coats; a heavy coat will seep under sooner than two light ones. It also pays to cover the inside of the cabin so that paint does not get in through the door openings.
The package holds the masking set only. The kit of the helicopter, paints and other materials are not included, unless stated otherwise.
