An injection-molded plastic kit of the British 25 pounder (25pdr) field gun and of the Quad artillery tractor (the Canadian Ford F.G.T. version) in 1:35 scale from Tamiya. It is a classic older set of the brand which brings the towed weapon, the towing vehicle, figures and decals together in one box. It lets you build a complete artillery group.
The 25 pounder gun-howitzer was the standard field weapon of British and allied units, including Canadian ones, in the Second World War and it was still in service in the Korean War. The Quad tractor - a fully enclosed artillery tractor - towed the gun together with its ammunition limber and carried the crew. The closed body of the tractor, with its characteristic shape, makes this group easy to recognize.
On the gun, take care over clean assembly of the carriage, the wheels and the barrel; on the tractor, assemble and paint the chassis and the interior before you seat the body. Glue the plastic with a liquid modeling cement. Over a primer, spray British olive (SCC) or a desert finish according to the scene you choose. A wash in the recesses and dust pigments on the wheels and the lower areas tie the group together and give it convincing weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
