1:35 8,8 cm Ammo for Kw.K.43

The real subject

The Kw.K.43 is a German tank gun of 8.8 cm caliber with which the Tiger Ausf. B heavy tank was armed. Its ammunition stands out among the tank ammunition of the Second World War: the case is very long and the round as a whole only just fits into a narrow fighting compartment, which also influenced the placing of the stowage bins inside the vehicle. That is exactly why ammunition of this caliber is a rewarding subject whenever a model is opened up and the viewer can see inside.

What the set offers

This is an accessory ammunition set in 1:35 scale, not a kit of a vehicle. The rounds will serve in the bins of a fighting compartment, in the hands of a loader figure, in a dump by a firing position or as empty cases set aside beside the machine. The composition of the set, that is, whether it contains complete rounds, projectiles alone or empty cases, and the number of pieces are stated by the manufacturer on the package.

Building and painting tips

First lay out dry how many pieces will be visible in the end, and only then set them in place. Cut the surplus material and the traces of production away with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest off, so that the shape of the tip and the rim of the case are preserved. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts, which is given in the instructions. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold on the smooth surface. The contrast between the case and the body of the projectile makes the ammunition legible, and a gentle accentuation of the edges helps at the end.

Terms of supply
