A photo-etched accessory set for the model of the attack helicopter AH-1Z in 1:35 scale. The metal parts replace features that come out too thick in plastic.
Responsibility details are not available.
The AH-1Z is an American attack helicopter that came about through a deep modernization of the older machines of the Cobra line. You recognize it by the main rotor with four wide blades, the slim fuselage with the crew seated one behind the other, and by the stub wings with racks for armament. Instead of wheeled landing gear it settles onto skids.
This is a set of photo-etched metal parts for a model in 1:35 scale. Photo-etch is made from thin sheet, and it therefore suits everywhere a plastic part comes out disproportionately thick in scale. The extent of the set and which kit it is tied to are given by the instructions enclosed by the manufacturer.
Lay the fret on a hard surface and separate the parts with a sharp blade, not with cutters. Sand the remains of the tab down with a fine file after separating. Make the bends over the edge of a steel ruler or in a bending tool, always in a single pull and over the whole length of the bend at once. Wash and degrease the metal before painting and apply a primer intended for metal, otherwise the finish holds badly and rubs off during handling. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); on larger areas a two-part epoxy proves itself, as it gives more time to line the part up.
The set assumes experience with working with photo-etch, tweezers and a sharp blade. For a first model it is not an ideal start, but for a modeler who wants to get the maximum detail out of a finished helicopter it is a common and proven route.
The helicopter model, paints, glue and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
