This product is not a helicopter model but an accessory for superdetailing the cockpit. It contains colored 3D-printed interior detail on a decal backing paper that reproduces the instrument panels, side consoles and other items of the pilot's and gunner's stations with a three-dimensional relief and faithful color. It is neither conventional photo-etch nor cast resin; the interior thus gains a realistic look without lengthy painting. The set is based on the cockpit of the AH-64D/E kit from Meng.
The Boeing AH-64 Apache is an American attack helicopter with a two-seat tandem cockpit (pilot and gunner). The AH-64D and the newer AH-64E are modernized digital variants, the D version characterized by the radar above the rotor. The modern cockpit with its displays is a rewarding subject for colored 3D decals.
The part is cut from the sheet, soaked for about 15 seconds in lukewarm water and slid off the backing paper onto the plastic part. It has no adhesive layer of its own and holds on a layer of gloss coat (Future, Klear, Tamiya X-22); in broken areas a drop of cyanoacrylate glue helps. Do not use a decal softener or a decal fixer, as the chemicals attack the printed resin. Work with a sharp knife, tweezers and onto a degreased surface.
This is an accessory to a plastic model. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
