An injection-molded plastic kit of the British amphibious truck Alvis FV622 Stalwart Mk.2 in 1:35 scale from the British manufacturer Airfix. It is a completely new tooling; according to the manufacturer the package contains around 210 parts, three marking options, a detailed cab interior, roof hatches and a water deflector that can be built open or closed, and optional parts for the radio and the exhaust. It is a model in the more demanding category.
The Stalwart was a British amphibious truck with drive to all six wheels (6x6), taken into service from 1966. It supplied combat units with fuel, ammunition and material and became known for its excellent cross-country performance and its ability to swim, driven in the water by water jets. Because of its distinctive design it was one of the typical vehicles of the British army of the Cold War.
Assemble and paint the cab interior before you close it up. The complex suspension of the six wheels is faithfully rendered – give it time and try a dry assembly. Lay down a primer and spray with an airbrush; you can bring the British olive green to life with washes into the recesses and dust pigments on the wheel arches and the underside. The hatches and the deflector can be left open to show the inside.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
