This is an accessory set from the brand SX-Art, not a kit of the vehicle. It contains thin self-adhesive film with a holographic effect, shaped for the vision ports, periscopes and instrument lenses of the armored car AML 60 in a kit in 1:35 scale. The film covers the dead plastic surface of the molded lenses and replaces it with a surface that changes color with the angle of view and sparkles much as real optics do.
The Panhard AML is a French light armored car with drive to all four wheels, designed for reconnaissance, patrol and escort duty. The AML 60 version carries in its turret a short-barreled 60 mm weapon backed by machine gun armament. The vehicle is small, light and has a long range, thanks to which it was exported a great deal and served in a number of armies outside Europe. On it the optics are among the elements that are immediately visible on a finished model: the driver's vision port, the periscopes on the roof and the sighting instruments in the turret.
Put the film on only onto a finished, dry and preferably varnish-sealed surface, so that the paint does not peel off underneath it. Free the elements with the tip of a sharp scalpel and carry them with fine-tipped tweezers, and do not touch the adhesive sides with your fingers. Adjust the seating with a toothpick and carefully trim any overhang with a scalpel once it has dried. It pays to paint the base underneath in a dark color in advance, because the glint then stands out far more. If you weather the model, leave the film until the very end, because washes and pigments would cloud the holographic effect.
This is an accessory for a kit. The kit itself, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
