This is a modeling accessory, not a model in its own right. The set holds individual track links cast in white metal, which are assembled into a working track by joining them with the enclosed wire. Metal tracks replace the plastic or vinyl tracks from an ordinary kit, they add a realistic weight and follow the sag over the road wheels faithfully.
The AMX 30 was a French main battle tank that entered service in the 1960s and belonged to the first generation of European postwar tanks alongside the German Leopard 1. It stood out for its relatively low weight, its emphasis on mobility and its 105 mm gun.
The links are cleaned of casting remains, assembled with the enclosed wire and can be left to sag slightly for a realistic look. The metal is treated with a primer before painting; painting and weathering with washes and pigments for dust and mud effects follow.
